Mise-en-scene- Props

As with the costume, we want the character's props to fit in with the 40s/old fashioned style and to stand out against the modern ways of now days. Other props, that are not going to be personal to the character, are going to be modern.

Rosa's props-
We are going to film Rosa holding an old fashioned suitcase that Mark may have. This is simply to add to the old fashioned, and romantic sense. We want to add simple props to the costume such as bracelets and an old watch Rebecca has. A flower in her hair will add to the girlyness that we want to show Rosa has.

Hayden's props-
hayden has no props at first, though when running through the market place he grabs a bunch of flowers of which he will then give to rosa when catching her.

Mise-en-scene- Costume

We are setting our film in the present day, though want to present the characters standing out from the everyday, modern style seen a lot in cambridge. The idea of making them have an older era fashion style makes them and the movie more romantic, along with the location, props and music/sound.

Rosa-
We want to incorporate a 40s look into Rosa's outfit and look. She is an elegant, free spirited young adult, who think she is able to decide what is best for her. While waiting at the train station, she is surrounded by modern transport, and so seeing a young adult dressed so saphisacately and elegantly, would make her stand out to the audience, and also could be seen as how Hayden realises it is her straight away.

We have taken influences from The Notebook (2005) and the clothes of which Allie wheres. The dresses she wears are perfect examples of what we want rosa to wear.

With the red flowered dress Rebecca has, we want Rosa to wear a thick, large, caramel coat. Luckily Rosa has one herself. So with the red dress and the dark caramel we want to add a pair of tattered boots, to give off a layed back, and fun side of her. All these characteristics of which the chosen outfit will give off, are what attract Hayden to Rosa and so the costumes, though not straight away obvious, are very important.

Hayden-
To go along with the old fashion style of their costumes, hayden is going to be looking scruffy, wearing an old leather jacket, baggy jeans and boots. The leather jacket is to show the slight different between them, as rosa is wearing an elegant dress, which brings her personality as romantic out, hayden is not.

Mood board

This is just a few ideas of what may be in our final sequence. the board is on the genre LOVE. we chose things that may be associated with love and also put images of what will be in our love scene when we shoot it.

Notting Hill

This is from another film, 'Notting Hill' that once again shows a romanic chasing scene. The sound and dialogue used within this sequence we liked a lot and this is was we will try really think about when making our own scene.

influences for our final sequences

Love Actually is another example of a chasing scene within a film.We thought about this film as it shows many different ages and types of love. We wanted to see different ways in which high budget films in england were presented.

25th January 2010- Influences

Bridget Jones's Diary

We chose this film as it has a perfect ending scene in which a chase occurs. We are thinking about using this idea of someone chasing somebody else that they love. This high budget film perfectly illustrates what we are looking for however we will look at other influences to help us get some more ideas.

Introduction

24th January 2010

Today we discussed ideas and genres for our 2-4 minute sequence.
We decided to chose a romantic comedy as we didn't want to go with the obvious thriller or horror of which we have seen throughout most previously made sequences. Although wanting to create a romantic comedy, we wanted to add a quirky, individual sense to it, to take away the cheesy-ness of typical examples.

The ideas we came up with have now been changed, however the costumes and props ect are still remaining in our new ideas.
